About the Plan

Daviess County is seeking to complete a Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan with funding from the Indiana State Department of Health. With this grant, the communities will develop a plan to accomplish the goals that each community has established separately and to accomplish the creation of a community-wide Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan.

The primary goals of this plan are intended to:

  • Create an understanding of the true prevalence of walking and bicycling currently in the community and increase the number of bicyclists and walkers in the County.
  • Increase the amount of people walking and bicycling for everyday transportation purposes such as commuting to work, walking or bicycling to school and running errands.
  • Based on the County goals, provide guidance and priorities for implementing programs, policies and infrastructure to support walking and bicycling with a broad range of funding and support.
The intent of this master plan is to build upon the county’s efforts and outline a comprehensive bicycle and pedestrian system network for the Daviess County.
